Drive Your Career Forward with CDL Training

Ready for a fulfilling career with high demand in our region? SUNY Sullivan’s weekend CDL Training Program provides the essential knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare you for careers in transportation, delivery, sanitation, and commercial driving. Designed for working adults, enrollment is limited to ensure quality behind-the-wheel instruction.

You will:

  • Train locally with experienced instructors.
  • Gain short-term training for job-ready skills.
  • Prepare for careers in bus companies, sanitation, municipalities, and delivery services.
  • Be qualified to operate commercial vehicles.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass drug test
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical

PROGRAM NOTES

  • Weekend Format: Conveniently designed for working adults.
  • Limited Capacity: Limited seats to ensure quality behind-the-wheel training.
  • Curriculum: Students receive a full curriculum guide outlining expectations, timelines, and testing requirements.

A class A license is considered the “universal” CDL, providing the opportunity to drive multiple types of commercial trucks and tractor trailers. A class B license also allows operation of different types of vehicles such as straight trucks and dump trucks, but it is more limiting than a class A CDL.
